Verrucae or plantar warts grow on the soles of the feet. Like most warts, they often go away on their own, but there are cases when they become too painful to ignore and need to be treated. These warts may be pushed in as one walks or stands, causing extreme discomfort and pain. These warts are viral and are often contracted in the floors of public swimming pools, showers, gyms, yoga centres or other places that need bare feet. It can be treated with surgical removal.
